Über Nacht hat es Meldungen gegeben, israelische Kriegsschiffe begleiten das Schiff, es habe den Kurs Richtung Ägypten geändert – kann stimmen, muss aber nicht.
Auch dieses Schiff bekam in der Nacht Probleme mit dem Motor – das hatten wir doch schon mal?
Al-Jazeera satellite channel, citing its correspondent accompanying the aid ship, said four Israeli warships were pursuing the Libyan vessel. It also said the aid ship had a technical problem that engineers were seeking to fix.
„The ship has received an ultimatum from the Israelis that we have to leave the area by tonight. We are not going to do that. Any other news is part of an attempt to distort information and trying to impose a scenario that suits the Israelis,“ said Sawani, whose foundation is chaired by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s son, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi.

By Wednesday morning, Israeli naval ships remained close to the vessel, which appeared to have stalled with apparent engine trouble. „We are continuing to follow the ship,“ a military spokeswoman said.
At around midnight, Israeli public radio, whose monitor has been listening in to radio transmissions between the ship and the navy, broadcast what it said was the ship’s captain reporting his main engine had failed.
In Tripoli, Yussef Sawan, executive director of the Kadhafi Foundation which chartered the vessel, confirmed the ship had engine trouble, but blamed its lack of progress on the Israeli navy.
„Because of a malfunction, the cargo ship was moving slowly but now it has stopped. The Israeli navy is preventing us from moving,“ Sawan told AFP.
„Eight Israeli warships are surrounding the Libyan aid ship for Gaza and preventing the continuation of its journey,“ he said.
The charity is run by Seif al-Islam, son of Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi.
But a military spokeswoman denied the navy was preventing the ship from progressing, insisting: „There are no new developments, everything is normal.“
Sawan said earlier that the warships were „threatening“ the cargo ship, the Amalthea, which he said was still headed for Gaza, denying a statement by an Egyptian security official that it was expected to arrive in the port of El-Arish on Wednesday.
„The ship is still headed for Gaza and will not change course,“ Sawan said.

A PLC member in Gaza and an Israeli MK reported Tuesday afternoon that warships had surrounded a Liybian aid ship 100 kilometers off the Gaza coast.
A military spokesman said he could not confirm the reports, made to Ma’an from Jamal Al-Khudari in Gaza and MK Ahmad Tibi in Jerusalem.
Tibi and Al-Khudari, who both say they are in touch with the ship’s organizers, said the crews were determined to continue to their destination, the Gaza City port.
At the same time, Israeli media said the nation’s military was preparing to once again stop aid ships en route to Gaza using „forceful interdiction,“ while a report from the Jewish Telegraph Agency said the Israeli foreign ministry warned the military not to intercept the ship in international waters.According to the Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz, the same recommendation was made in advance of the Freedom Flotilla, which was attacked 91 miles from the Gaza coast.
